The workers’ compensation insurance compensates for losses caused by occupational accidents and diseases. The definitions for an occupational accident and an occupational disease are given in the Workers’ Compensation Act (459/2015, abbreviated TyTAL). An unofficial English translation of the Act is also available.

For accidents at work and occupational diseases, the compensation is determined according to the Workers’ Compensation Act.
