Compensation for claim events that occurred in 2016 or later is paid under the Workers’ Compensation Act and certain decrees issued under it.

Compensation paid under the Workers’ Compensation Act takes priority over other statutory compensations. This means that every case is first dealt with and compensable as an accident at work or an occupational disease.

As the legislation provides for the compensations, other losses are not compensated under the worker’s compensation insurance.

With regard to accidents that have occurred before 1 January 2016, the compensation is determined in accordance with the Employment Accidents Insurance Act. With a few expectations, the compensations are equivalent to those determined in the Workers’ Compensation Act.
